Dr. Shah was raised in New York and graduated from Cornell University. He received his medical degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York where he met his physician-wife.
He attended Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia for both residency Internal Medicine and Followship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Following fellowship, Dr. Shah was Co-Director of a busy Gastroenterology practice in Delaware for over 10 years. He was actively involved in a number of medical committees including being a board member on the Delaware Board of Licensure and Discipline.
He and his family relocated to the Triangle in 2020 where he became Medical Director of a large Gastroenterology practice in Raleigh/Cary until joining Raleigh Medical Group Gastroenterology.
He currently serves on the physician Peer Review committee at WakeMed Hospital Raleigh.
He is board certified in Gastroenterology and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr. Shah has broad expertise in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His expertise includes management of esophageal and colon disorders, liver disease, bleeding/anemia, screening for colon cancer, reflux disease, GI infections, inflammatory bowel disease and more. He utilizes endoscopic procedures to manage a wide variety pf benign and emergent gastrointestinal diseases.
When not working, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 young children.
